Welcome! PicPaks Version

Version Update History

You can download the Free PicPaks software program here, and also optionally purchase a variety ofย  inexpensive Object Libraries. Each library is a collection of PNG files and the objects in each library are related to a theme. The title of each library is the theme.

Examples of libraries are: Buses, Dinosaurs, Fish, Flowers and many others.

We are constantly creating new image libraries of objects for use in PicPaks using the best resolution possible. You can also create your own PNG image libraries to use in PicPaks.

Nothing pressing; seems like things have quieted down here. Just seeing if you are still thinking about adding color aware features to PicPak. May not have been enough interest though, but still, I do like your program Johnny and share results elsewhere from time to time and folks at those places have shown interest. ๐Ÿ™‚

      Hi lylejk,
I’m just finishing up the new Pingotec Pro program for text drawing with layers and so on. I’ll get back to PicPaks soon and have so far added a bunch of new features including both object colorizing and fast Sobel-like edge detection to make very accurate pictures. I only wish I had 48 hours per day and a clone of myself!

      • lylejk says:

lol; I hear you Johnny. Do you have a consolidated site with links to all of your programs that you work on? Already knew you also created Pingotec; just curious. Looking forward to the updates to PicPak and thanks for the addition info. ๐Ÿ™‚

Please add a system to prevent the repeat number of each image in drawing mode
    for example I want
    001.jpg–>3 repeat
    002.jpg–>0 repeat
    003.jpg–>10 repeat

and add manual painting, I want force to put and draw 001.jpg and 002.jpg with my mouse click on the canvas.
    thank you

    • johnnyj says:

      Both great ideas.
Does your repeat syntax 002.jpgโ€“>0 imply that 002.jpg may not be used at all?

The force would probably fit an object at the cursor spot where the mouse button is released. Random rotation and minimum/maximum side would apply.

Thanks for the update Johnny. Shared that info at RetouchPRO and GIMPChat. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just installed it. Not sure what was upgraded but no issue with the new version. Thanks again Johnny; will share at other sites that you released an new update. ๐Ÿ™‚

Just brainstorming. Another cool possible option would be to have some perspective control (i.e, have your target mask tilted if you will and have the placement of objects done so with perspective in mind). Just brainstorming. Still in the hopes for the next release Johnny. ๐Ÿ™‚

Fantastic program; had an eye one it since I saw a link from di Blasi about it. Look forward to the release soon as well, but cool that I am able to experiment with the program now. Shared links at several different sites; definitely a fan of packing. Maybe a future update would be to allow packing of colored targets (i.e., color aware) to give similar results as Jigsaw Image Mosaics. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • johnnyj says:

Many thanks. I am planning to include your suggested colorizing, as well as “shape video” to animate the drawing of the final picture will be included in a future version. The first release and a limited demo version will be available in the beginning of August. Forgot to mention that in my first post.

Very cool johnny; looking forward to the initial release so that I can give you your just rewards (very happy it’s only going to be $15) since I’m having way too much fun with your program right now. lol
